Industry
From renewable source to a stable grid.
Building a solar park or wind farm is only half the job. The other half is connecting it to the grid, under strict technical rules, with the right transformers and protection, and keeping it stable. Our engineers know both traditional power systems and the newer inverter-based and hybrid formats, and bridge the two.
Scope
What we help with
01
Grid connection studies, applications and agreements
02
Substation and transformer specification, procurement and installation
03
Compliance with grid codes and operator requirements
04
Integration of solar, wind and battery storage in hybrid plants
05
Onshore and offshore wind export connections
06
Commissioning, energisation and performance testing
Why it is hard
Grids were built for large central power plants. Renewables are distributed, variable and use power electronics. That changes voltage control, protection, fault behaviour and stability, and every operator interprets the rules slightly differently. We have done it in many countries and know where the pitfalls are.
Did you know?
Hybrid plants that co-locate generation and storage behind a single connection point are becoming the default way to make scarce grid capacity go further.
